Lawhorn's Lawrence: Lawrence's March Madness of 1912
Must have started in 1876, as they had 17 inches (of snow) one day in March of that year, according to the article. Interesting...

Expansion of rental inspection program to get hearing Tuesday, as some commissioners express new concerns
Just wondering if the city (Lawrence Housing Authority) will be required to pay the $15 per apartment and the $50 inspection fees on the apartments they own, since they own several hundred apartments here in Lawrence.

KU's Elijah Johnson says Sunday's three-hour team meeting with head coach was productive
All you haters said the same crap last year about Tyshaun. I trust Coach Self.

In Obama's second inaugural address, he calls on U.S. to help poor, elderly
Actually, she is the one who looks "hateful" and "bitter".

In Obama's second inaugural address, he calls on U.S. to help poor, elderly
More like lip synced it out of the park. And on such a joyous day of hope and change and lectures of how we should join together to overcome the problems our country is facing, why on earth would the crowd boo Paul Ryan? is that the country the left wants? seriously???

Huelskamp and his iPad in middle of revolt against Boehner
I don't know if the "no" votes had anything to do with the pork that was added to the bill. my understanding was that there was money for NASA and money for someplace in Mississippi or Alabama in the bill.
Let me be clear that I am not defending a no vote, okay?

Lawrence police to patrol Topeka Saturday during services for slain officers
I think they have something called protect and surround going on in case the picketers show up.

Do you put out a bird feeder or try to feed the birds in the winter?
We have bird feeders and I put food out for squirrels and bunnies. I think we have a raccoon that is helping himself to our dog food. I also throw out old bread and apples. I try to keep water out too.

Study: ‘Fiscal cliff’ may cost Kansas 40,000 jobs, $2.75 billion GDP
Some of the opposition does come radio hosts, no doubt. But I don't think anyone can deny that low tax rates is one of the core beliefs of the Republican party, and has been for a very long time. For the record, I never listen to Hannity, Limbaugh or Beck. I am not, and probably never will be in the 1%. At this point in time though, I think we have to raise rates, but in return for that, I believe there have to be spending cuts as well.

If you could change or improve something in Lawrence, what would it be?
Add a few more cable companies. Not really satisfied with our options. And a white sandy beach would be nice...
