Prediction time: Big 12 football North/South standings

I wouldn't call it a lack of courage — at least, on my part — of not picking KU last in the North. Having talent at the skill positions doesn't always correlate to finishing high in the standings. Kansas had arguably its best collection of skill positions in team history last season and still finished last in the North. KU's schedule (78th toughest out of 120 Div. 1 teams, per Phil Steele), combined with the sizable gap from Missouri and Nebraska to the rest of the pack, leaves 3-6 truly up in the air.

Big 12 rookie predictions: Who will have biggest NBA impact?

i think hinrich steps into a rebuilding project in washington, whereas chicago is a team i see making the playoffs for years to come. The bulls, with more salary cap room this summer, should be one of the more active teams in the coming months. And this is the summer to be active with all the available stars out there. They already have a nice nucleus with derrick rose, joakim noah and luol deng.

Hinrich steps into a situation in washington where they're pretty much starting over. They need a makeover after gilbert arenas embarrassed them last season with the gun in the locker room fiasco. With john wall, arenas, andray blatche and josh howard, they have some pieces.

I'd have to think hinrich is going to be the sixth man in Washington with Wall and Arenas holding down the backcourt. Randy Foye, another Washington guard, isn't expected back, so that should open the door for hinrich to see quality minutes.

What do you think? Thanks for posting.

uhjh, this won't be seeing any "print space." That's why it's included in a blog.
