Do you think 2013 will be a better year than 2012?
Such a generalized question. I'm going to assume were talking about football and say no way

If marijuana were legal would you smoke it?
Everyone I know that smokes does it before work. They have never been fired, never been tested, and excell at their jobs. And no, I'm not talking about the 17 year old making your taco, I'm talking about grown people with families and real jobs. Some who even own their own company. Reefer madness isn't a scientific documentary, it was made by the government to brainwash you and apparently worked. Also, the effects of thc wear off after hours, the fact that remains in the system does not mean your still high, by that logic, you could smoke a joint and be high for 30+ days, not how it works, wish it was, but its not

Do you think it would be a good idea for Kansas to legalize marijuana?
Wow, some of the comments on here are so rediculous. Why do some assume if they legalize everyone in the state will become lazy and just sit around all day smoking? why would you assume that people that get drug tested for work would just start smoking? They can do that now if they want. Plus a lot jobs that say they drug test, don't actually drug test. There are plenty of people that are responsible, have full time jobs, and education, that smoke. I gaurentee everyone knows someone that smokes and you just don't know it. Nothing would change at all except farmers would make more money, the state would make more money, and less people would be in jail. There is such easy access to it, and so many people do it, it is pointless for it to be illegal. After all, isn't that why the city decriminalized it already? Even before then, the cops never did anything to someone that had a joint. Now, back to my herbs....

Lawrence runners surprised, disappointed by New York City Marathon cancellation
Cancelling the run is insensitive? At least I know where not to shop for running shoes. A lot more than two people lost a lot more than $3600.

Lawrence doesn’t plan to buy more road salt
I woke up this morning, windows opens, to a beautiful and sunny 74 degree day. Got out of bed, stretched, looked out said window, and thought to myself ,"Man!, I sure hope the city has enough salt in 6 months...". Thankfully, I have the Lawrence Journal World though! I knew I could count on the LJ World to provide me with the most breaking, important, and relative news to get me through my day worry free.
