KU preparing to buy share of new private plane
The chancellor here at KU deserves some cheap shots. She is a total joke and is pathetic.

High-speed police pursuit in East Lawrence ends in arrest at pumpkin patch
This happened yesterday, January 17th. That might have been the reason the police headed out north yesterday.

High-speed police pursuit in East Lawrence ends in arrest at pumpkin patch
Police chased a white van down 6th Street last night at about 5:10 pm. The van ran several red lights and almost t-boned some cars at 6th & Maine. I'm very confused as to why the police cars chasing him did not have their sirens or lights on. It was an extremely dangerous situation and I heard a high school kid got his car damaged in the chase. Why hasn't any of this been reported on LJWorld.com?

Lawrence Chamber of Commerce takes official stance in favor of $25M recreation center, proposed Rock Chalk Park
Yes, Doug Gaumer is also Thomas Fritzel's next door neighbor. How convenient.

I really hope the Sweet Shoppe on Mass does very well. I know the owners have put in a lot of work getting the place ready to go. Best of luck to the Jimenez family on their endeavor.

Sudden impact: First-year starter Kieran Severa big play-maker for Lawrence High
I am very happy for Kieran. He does have a great work ethic and he is a tremendous person. His entire family is a valued asset to our community. Good luck to the Lions this Friday night.

Town Talk: City to have public meeting on proposed sports complex; speculation that Fritzel will get to build $25M rec center without going through city bid process; ugly sweaters coming to downtown
I promise you our company would love to bid on the recreation center. Put the entire project out for real bids.

Town Talk: Esquina to close in downtown Lawrence, St. Louis-style Italian restaurant to take its place; City Hall to pay company's moving expenses; tougher tow regulations on tap for Lawrence
I think the food at Paisano's is terrible. They try to copy dishes from other great Italian restaurants but do a very poor job of it. We have tried to develop an Olive Garden several times and have had no luck with the city.
