A tough stand on Russia

cato, is World Net Daily a left wing site?"A separate WND investigation into Obama's birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic. The investigation also revealed methods used by some of the bloggers to determine the document was fake involved forgeries, in that a few bloggers added text and images to the certificate scan that weren't originally there."The birth certificate "story" is a ruse being utilized to stir up ideologues.

Young delegate hopes to make a difference

Ag - I was utilizing the definition of "liberal" preferred by the majority of users who posted on this thread and typically utilized by them in posts along the lines of "all the liberals on this board" or "this board and its liberal slant."Irony much?

I hate it when people play the liar card. Too bad cato is always so quick to go there. He may never use the specific word "liar," but he frequently accuses others of calling him a "liar." Typically, he is simply being asked to back up one of his posts. When he can't, he expresses outrage over being called a "liar."Stop playing the liar card. You're like the Al Sharpton of lying.

this "board" is soooo liberal...I wonder, when was there greater growth among the middle class - under the tax and spending policies of Clinton in the 1990's or under the tax and spending policies of Bush in the 2000's?One candidate sees the 1990's as a model to build on, the other sees the 2000's as the model. It is no wonder someone who came of age during the latter period would choose the former. The idea that we should structure our society to provide great benefit to those who, either by sheer luck or hard work, become wealthy and structure it at the expense of those who, either by sheer luck or hard work, make up the middle class is a defining difference between Democrats and Republicans.

See, child, there's a difference between your insults and personal attacks and calling someone out when a falsehood is presented. You consider anything you post to be an absolute truth, so who is really close minded? You've yet to grasp that basic concept, which leads a rational person to believe there is nothing elder about you.

cato, it is well established the only insult you consider to be harmful is the word "liar."But "liar" would be just the tip of the iceberg for the derogatory, insulting, and downright repulsive comments you direct at others on this site.Feb. 19, 2008. Something went terribly wrong on ljworld.com that day, and it hasn't been the same since.

A tough stand on Russia

Sometime around February 19 of this year, the discourse on the LJ World comments went straight into the toilet.I've been trying to put my finger on what changed then, but haven't quite figured it out.

No more hugs as Obama tears into McCain

Don't mess with independent newspaper publishers. They are manly men, except for the female ones.

Sebelius said to be among VP finalists

cato_the_elder (Anonymous) says:Sebelius would be the worst choice that he could make. Go for it, Barack.-------------------------------------------------Wow. Speaking in absolutes isn't something bright people do.For example, it would be worse for Obama if he were to choose Bill Clinton as his running mate. It would be worse for Obama if he were to choose former Senator Mike Gravell as his running mate. John Edwards? Former CA gubernatorial candidate Gary Coleman? Both worse.Additionally, the idea of picking a running mate to try and swing an individual state is woefully dated. Was Dick Cheney chosen to help in Texas or, ahem, Wyoming?
