KU capital improvement projects include renovations to stadium, Haworth Hall and housing facilities

No stadium improvements until 2023 at the earliest? Are you kidding me? Wake up KU. You MUST do something before then!

Lawrence hires firm to evaluate Oread tax district

Wonder how big a bath the Oread and other Lawrence merchants took because of KU's dwindling football crowds. KU listed Saturday's crowd as 21,415, but there weren't that many in the decrepit stadium.

Skwarlo’s scoring spree sparks Firebirds

Now that Lions and Firebirds are in different districts for the first time, perhaps we'll see a Skwarlo-Woods rematch in the 6A playoffs. Interesting that both teams won 35-7 this week with each of their talented RBs rushing for more than 250 yards.

Haskell football was surely the most underfunded four-year program in America. It had no support staff, no fan base, no alumni support and no hope of ever having a winning season. Sadly, 'iconic' Haskell Stadium, no longer used by the two city high schools, has deteriorated to the point that it's becoming Lawrence's own Roman Colesseum.
