Library project goes to voters

This is insane. During economic hard times, we must not expand but simply do what we can to maintain. During the current times we have individuals living in poverty level like mentioned above, people not getting raises, people getting laid off and then our city commissioners want to expand and further burden a group of tax payers that are almost overwhelmed as it is.

"We're in challenging times, but sometimes you have to step aside and look forward."

Why is it that the governing people don't understand that if you are in challenging times you buckle down, not keep spending? Our future could look brighter and we all could look forward to it if the economy recovers and the taxed population can bear this burden. As of right now, we cannot.

School board considering tax increase

And a property tax increase on the property owners of Lawrence could cause a lot more problems in the future for this school board. Are they going to continue to increase property tax as more people lose their homes?

School board proposes freezing teacher pay for 2010-2011

I'm all for the teacher's pay being frozen. I haven't gotten a salary increase in over 3 years while all other costs have gone up. Does this measure include freezing administrator salaries?

Are you going to upgrade your cell phone to take advantage of 4G technology?

I'm guessing it will be around 6 months and 4G will be inching towards Lawrence. I have had Sprint for over 10 years and haven't had any problems.

ABC

I find this passage extremely helpful in my daily life. Simply from the idea that I have been forgiven for everything done in my life that was sinful. This is confirmed in Hebrews 8:12 where the new covenant/perfect law is defined: "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more."

What extras would you cut to save money on your cell phone bill?

Get Sprint for the cheapest plan out there with everything you need. I don't want to cut services!! I need them all!

Would you be willing to pay for a private curbside recycling service?

Deffenbaugh is doing this now and it is $4.95 a month, no sorting, cart included, and they will pick it up on the same day your normal trash is done. I'm going to actually sign up!!
