Offices, services close for New Year’s holiday

Liquor stores are NOT required to be closed on New Years day, however some will make a decision to be closed or to have shortened hours. I would suggest checking with your local store.

Liquor store robberies sparking concerns

It isn't that the quality of the camera systems in stores is not up to par, it is that when you hand a dvd over to the police they are unable to view it due to fact that they are not allowed to install a program on their computer system that will allow them to do just that! It is past time for the LPD to update their systems.

Chef to request special-use permit

Let's see...the city shut him down once for operating without a license...he couldn't make it work at another location, so now the city (and his neighborhood) are thinking of allowing him to reopen in his home...I wonder if the state will grant him a liquor license.....I'm sure he will be serving it with or without one

Lawrence cases in limbo as Kline leaves

Mr. Bloomgren knew he was breaking the law when he did it and does not deserve to be allowed to continue operating his businesses...I hope Morrison does not back down on this case, it has been going on far too long as it is.

Dining operation seeks special-use permit

Rewarding someone for illegally going about the process to begin with (and getting busted for it) by allowing them to do what they set out to do in the first place is so completely wrong!

Why bother having any laws or rules if you are going to break them?

Group to push for Lawrence minimum wage

How about the folks that want to raise the minimum wage sell everything they own so that they can open their own business! Until you have been in a position where you are paying someone else out of your own pocket you have absolutely no right telling everyone who does what they need to pay those people....especially when most of them are going to be students who only want to work part time and have extremely poor work ethics!

New Kline ad called a 'jaw dropper'

We all know that Phil loves to dig into peoples lives (and confidential doctor's records), so I'm not surprised that he did this to Morrison, but lets get real! How in the world can a right wing conservative who believes in things like FAMILY VALUES put up with the mud slinging that is going on????? Take about being hypocritical!

This sleazy idiot not only needs to be kicked out of office, I'm sure with enough digging he probably has a few crimes in his past he could be convicted of!
