Do you think security cameras in public places invade your privacy?

I don't like the idea of cameras everywhere, but I do see the need. What concerns me even more is a law Illinois is considering that makes it a felony to video tape police officers. What are they afraid of? If the people can be video taped why not the police? Some cops are more criminal than the criminals they arrest.

GOP worldview misdirects the fear

Another self righteous liberal attributing all of life's woes to people who believe in equal rights instead of special rights.

The problem with Pitts' column is that you could just about swap Republican with Democrat and maintain the integrity of the subject matter. The democrats wouldn't be speaking of the Girl Scout, but the church or midwesterners that love their guns.

It's all a bunch of nonsense that divide people.

Concealed-carry changes

I can't believe the writer actually believes that a person who is behind on child support should not be allowed to have a CC permit. Just like a liberal to tie unrelated issues together in an attempt to win what they want...No one to have a CC permit in this case.

Rule could cost debtors their only income

Oh jeez, I don't know if you've lived under a rock for the past 30 years, but very few women pay child support in comparison to men. Just about every domestic relations law favors women and now this. I'll bet most divorced women collecting child support are also on welfare or food stamps, so how much do they actually contribute to their own kids?

It is completely unacceptable to allow men to become destitute just so their "baby mama" can go out and get another pedicure or spend a few more hours at the bar each week! We all know that there are plenty of women who don't spend their child support on their kids, but instead use the extra money to prolong their good time!

See what happens when the government forces you to depend on them? They have complete control over your life! If you are a newly released veteran and have a claim with the military you should really consider taking a one lump sum instead of monthly payments from the VA.

I am really upset by this. Women have all kinds of "special" rights and this law will just add to it. The kids won't see the money anyway and now the men will be forced to homeless shelters and soup kitchens!

What do you know about Lawrence history?

Coming from the Detroit area I have learned alot about the auto executives. The CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mullally, was born and raised in Lawrence. He earned an undergraduate degree from KU.
