Attempt to revive fire districts bill fails

There are other options to persue. In Jefferson County we have what is called Automatic Mutual Aid where, on all structure fires and other serious incidents, more than one depatment is sent on the initial call. We have found it works well in our rural areas where all firefighters are volunteers. It is never known how many firefighters will respond. Lobby your county dispatch agency to see if this a possibility.

Statehouse Live: Arts supporters urge Brownback to reverse defunding decision

So in following is Sammy also going to halt the funding of the restoration of the art that is our state capital building? Those nasty wall paintings of John Brown and such have got to go. And get that artful Indian off the top of the dome along with those artful ornamentations to the architecture. Oh, Sammy while you are at it remove art from your state letterhead, flag, seal and those little "Pray" desk ornaments that you gave your hired thugs. Everyone in grey robes quick!

Brownback to show appreciation for state employees

Sammy is just trying to prove that he really does care about State employees and people in general. I can see it now, surrounded by his loyal Koch Bros. and Florida employees all smiling for the cameras as they munch the government cookie.

Statehouse Live: Former state hospital chief 'shocked' by administration's plan to close Lawrence office

rockcaulk1977, i know you have been following this story but I have to wonder if you think more upper-level admins. with obvious personality and educational deficiencies will improve service, remove "welfare moms", reduce your taxes or improve the quality of life that you enjoy?

Statehouse Live: SRS salaries come under question as agency plans to close offices; Lawrence workers can't go to Topeka

News from the inside......Brownbacks lawyers conceed that to void the building rental contacts at Lawrence and Fort Scott would cost the SRS 4 years worth of rental on those buildings. No way out, so no closing of those offices. Now, how will Brownback spin this to look like he made the choice due to his caring nature and the needs of Lawrence and Fort Scott rather than because the Administration failed to fully research the issue before slaming the liberal college town?

Play grounded

Does the licking tiger, like many of the 250 lawyers, suffer from a bad case of twisted logic? Maybe the victim of that tigers ass-ult should have put a lable there!
