Missile would be missed

Yes, we should have a comparable Soviet missile displayed there as well. How could I have missed the point of this article. We should measure the size of both phalic symbols and see who's is the biggest. That's exactly what this article is about. I see you did a great job in choosing your name, bozo.

Missile would be missed

You are missing the point here. In the article it states about the missile, "...that was donated by the Lawrence Navy League in 1964 as a tribute to members of the U.S. military who served during the Cold War." It is a symbol which honors the service of military personnel who served during the Cold War era and represents the fact that we who served onboard the submarines which carried these Polaris missiles accomplished our primary mission which was a deterrent to nuclear war. No nuclear weapons were ever fired. To my way of thinking that was a good thing.

Missile would be missed

I served onboard the Fleet Ballistic Missle nuclear powered submarine the USS Thomas Jefferson SSB(N) 618 from 1967 until 1970. We had 16 of these Polaris missles on our submarine and I for one think that it is most fitting to keep this one in Lawrence "as a tribute to members of the U.S. military who served during the Cold War." I guess it means more to some of us than it does to others.

If you could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

Glen Sohl, the owner of both those restaurants, has already done that with a link on his real estate website.

Here it is: http://www.realtyx.com/getagent/Pages...

The Red Lion - What ever Bill served as the "special" each day for lunch. And the deserts there were great too!
