Just what I was thinking! Ella on header- what a perfect ending. Congrats girls. Good job defense and lets have another shutout tonight.

Lawrence High soccer loses, 3-1

The game was literally played in a park on a slow grass field. The Manhattan forwards were fast and phyical, and LHS (mostly) didn't adjust to contain them.
LHS connected on short passes...but held the ball too long and didn't make runs without ball.
There was some great defense by the same players as always. Ella Magerl was everywhere and Alex Ewy is fearless. They both should be all league for their skill and consistency. There were also some newer players that stepped up, and there is something there for LHS to build upon.

Kick starter: Senior reserve sparks FSHS, 4-1

I agree it is nice to see the stats...but I don't know how accurate they are. I sat behind a college coach who was keeping notes, and he had 20 saves with over 10 minutes left in the game.
Free State completely dominated time of possesion and shots/shots on goal. Not including shots, there were many, many corner kicks and crosses that could have easily been goals.

FSHS soccer wins despite ejection

Very good observation. Even against an average team, LHS never actually puts together a true offensive attack or a shot on goal. Eventually they lose the ball, and.... the best central defense and goalie can't hold out forever.

LHS soccer disjointed in Olathe North loss

Does the team have a coach? Not a single comment from the coach. Nice to have coverage of high school soccer, but...

LHS girls tennis coach gives up football job

Sounds like a good guy. However...You think LHS could have hired someone more than a couple weeks before the season started.

Statehouse Live: Brownback plans news conference to talk about his time in governor's office so far

We should probably clarify MORE jobs, job, jobs. Not 87 less in Lawrence, with no proof that it will save the state any money in the long run.

The Boy in the Attic: De Soto mother Rachel Perez discusses horrific child abuse case

Glad to know that he is doing well now. What happened to boyfriend, Acosta? Was he charged with anything?
