Your Turn: Fight laws that allow guns on our campuses

It's good to see that we can trust men and women of college age to defend the 310 million residents of the US, but they can't be trusted to to defend themselves.

I see a whole lot of sense in that.

Just my casual observation.

Driver inattention suspected in crash that shut down part of Iowa Street for two hours

That's what we need, more government intervention. While I agree that dividing one's attention between the road and their phone is dangerous, it is incumbent upon the driver to pull his/her respective head out into the light of day.

Lawrence police officer arrested for DUI

Food for thought has it right. If the Trooper obtained a blood or urine sample for analysis, the sample has to be sent to the KBI lab in Topeka for testing. Rumor has it the lead time on a blood sample is 8-12 weeks. The DA will not initiate any action in the district court until the results of the test are known.

Should cameras be allowed in federal courthouses?

Our right to a speedy PUBLIC trial is guaranteed by the 6th Amendment. If and how the proceedings are made public should be left to the defendant, not a judge. If he/she chooses to waive that right, then no cameras in the courtroom.
