Body of man found near Kansas River Aug. 31 identified as 57-year-old Lawrence resident
So its taken me a couple days to get the strength to write this message. My name is Brandi and Mark was my Dad and Papa Mark to my kids not by biology but by choice. It is important to me and my family that those of you who read this know that Mark was a good man who was very loved. He had a problem with alcohol that he struggled with all his life. This demon is what lead him to his current circumstances, but he wasn't aways homeless. He was the best roofer in the Lawrence area. When I was little and my mom had to leave early for work he would brush and braid my hair for school. The circumstances of his death may make it seem like he will not be missed but that it simply not true.

I hope he realizes how lucky he is and gets his head straight. I mean with $800 grand in the bank he can afford to call a cab!!
