Art funding

Art is a form of Self Expression. And that consists more than Haybales, Windmills, and Sunflowers. I am an Artist, I do Abstact Art. I look up at the work of Kandinsky, Picasso and various other Artists, I do not paint Pictures, I paint shapes, designs, etc. Although I have gotten asked by people what was I on,? or what did I smoke?. Well absolutly nothing. It is the kind of art I do. Kandinsky was the first artist that painted Paintings, with absolutly no title to them. That is me. I love Art, My dad, Father In Law, along with a lot of my friends are artists in some form or another. Art is a part of my life. And for the one, in another Article Comment here in LJW, who stated that she did not want to have HER tax money pay for Art. TO me that is selfish, and sad. It seems like if a lot of people can not have a Barn Painted their mailbox or a round piece of wood made into a clock, then they are not interested and do not wish to have art in THEIR state. Well it has 105 Counties that we are all in, and if you do not like the liberal side of Kansas. Well then take your 102 Counties and make your own state. And what would it be called the state of REDNECKISTAN!

Brownback rethinking state funding of the arts, officials say

I trust this man as much as I trust a "Snake that looks like it would not bite, and it does anyway." Please people wake up. And smell the rat in this deal. Yeah he is really saying. "Hey let me redeem myself by giving you back your $ for the Arts, And who knows I may reverse anything I have cut this year. So you will vote for me again." NOT NOT NOT! What this really means is "VOTE FOR ME! AND LET ME PULL THE WOOL OVER YOUR EYES AND ROB YOU AGAIN,. JUST LIKE I DID BEFORE! HA HA HA HA SUCKER!" Well I am not falling for this one. I did not the first time and I won't this time either.

Do you think Lawrence should have public art installations?

Yes! I agree with this 100%. I am an Artist and would dig, seeing my Art Work in Down Town Lawrence. I have always dreamed of being able to paint a mural on the side of a wall. It would totally get me and other Artists recognized, who want this, and just do not know, how to go about doing this.

Do you support the National Transportation Safety Board's recommendation banning all cellphone uses while driving?

Yes I do, and I can go get a Blue Tooth Device, for when I drive. It will be helpful. I only get or make a call ever so often, when I am on the road. I just can't wait until, someone who has the phone glued to their ear while they drive, gets popped for it. That will make me happy.

After exoneration, Topeka case reopened to find DNA match for real rapist

I hope they are able to find the Person who did this. I am glad the person who they thought was it, was not. Thank Gosh for DNA! And I hope this victim can go on and try to put the pieces behind them, also that they are able to see the real person charged.

Should pepper spray be used to deal with Occupy protesters?

Not until they act like they are going to hurt someone of Authority, otherwise no. Leave these people alone and let them express themselves. They have the right to, they along with the rest of us have been ripped off by the Government for over 30 years.

Teen tweeter won't apologize to Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback

This young lady knows what she is talking about, she has been educated and knows that she is upset with him for cutting funding in the arts programs, along with other programs in Kansas. She is not alone.

Clamor erupts over teen’s tweet about Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback

I am sorry that you are our Governor, who cuts funding at the blink of an eye. I am sorry that you are our Governor, and not Tom Holland. I am sorry that people were foolish enough to vote for you. (Wasn't me. I was smart enough not to vote and be fooled by you.) I am sorry that we all are getting our Arts Program, pulled apart by you for the fact of that being a valuable program that is needed in this state. You keep messing with that and taunting all of us here in Kansas, LEAVE IT BE! YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE ENOUGH DESTRUCTION TO IT! AND THE ONLY WAY IT WILL EVER GET FIXED IS BY A NEW GOVERNOR WHO CARES ENOUGH TO HELP ALL OF US REBUILD AND REVIVE WHAT YOU HAVE DESTROYED!I am sorry that we all have to go to other states and get laughed at, because of who our Governor is. I won't be sorry when you leave or get voted out. That will be a day for celebration, And hopefully it won't be that far away into the future. The only thing I am sorry for is that you are still here.

Yeah he talks about being disrespected by this. PLEASE! SPARE ME! What about the all of the funding he cut for the Arts, Mental Health, Education, etc...... Who did he disrespect then? I'll tell you who, all of us in Kansas, young and old, who have had to work harder and scrape together money for the programs, and organizations that he ripped apart by removing the funding. Ok now who is being disrespectul?
