Statehouse Live: Jenkins says some are happy to stay unemployed to collect benefits
And your point works both ways, er, should I say, from both political angles. :-)

Statehouse Live: Jenkins says some are happy to stay unemployed to collect benefits
Really? So when does this economy become Obama's economy? He's only been in office 3.5 years now. And he had both the house and the senate under DNC control the first two years of office. He could have laid the ground work to fix the economy easily then. But the thing you don't understand is that when the head of the nation keeps berating the companies and evil corporations that make jobs in this country, and hang a millstone around their necks called Obamacare, no right minded biz leader would think about expanding biz. They think about how to pay for all these new mandates that could have been money for hiring employees and expanding biz.

"This is the problem with the current Republican Party -- they make policy based on acecdote". OK, but then you back that up with your own anecdote. "The vast majority of people want to find work..." Where's the facts Bozo? Or are you just a member of the Republican Party you rail against?

City helps resolve dispute over rural resident's target practice
And I love the title the ljworld used for this hit piece: City helps resolve dispute...Uh, no, they just ran rough shod over a person outside it's jurisdiction by threatening to bring him inside their jurisdiction. Talk about your bullying! Nice job LJWorld. Don't see bullying when it's done by the enlightened do you?

City helps resolve dispute over rural resident's target practice
Uncertain about what he would do? I am soooo tired of this fear argument. From previous posts on the ljworld, you people that keep dropping the afraid argument...Sooner or later you will have to grow up and realize that being adult means confronting fear, not calling big govt to confront it for you. Get used to it. There is nothing to fear but fear itself, especially when you create the fear yourself. Next thing you know that guy will be guilty, because he looked guilty! "Well, I just knew he would cause problems..." Tried and convicted in someone's head. Nice job enlightened people! Think I'll stick with the un-enlighted crowd.

Retired judge's portrait not enough to satisfy state voter ID law
A judge unable to get a free ID? Seriously...Smells more like political activism.

Coin meters bring change in charitable donations
Give it away and they will come. Get ready for more of 'em. Had a couple of runins with the poor and destitute in this town. One had a gas can and was asking for money @ 23rd and Louisiana. Told him to meet me at the station and I'd fill his can. Of course, he couldn't walk a block for his "gas" and didn't want a ride there, just wanted the money. Another one was by king buffet / perkins. Him and his 10-11 year old son. He was asking for money. Buddy of mine told him they have food kitchens here in town if they were hungry. He told us "Yeah, but we're vegetarians." Just shrugged my shoulders and walked away. Seriously? Apparently your parents never told you beggars can't be choosers, another failed societal lesson. Oh well, so be it. Needless to say, govt based charity get's no charity from me.

Sound off: Is it legal to mow your grass clippings into the street?
Every law on the books has been broken, and most of them A LOT of times. Not much of a deterrent eh? Our whole system as you put it is dependent on people that do the right thing, not just obey the law. And by creating stupid nit picky laws, you take people that would normally do the right thing, and make them not want to do the right thing. Remember, we got tired of England and their nit picky laws and kicked them out a while ago. Most of our bill of rights came out of that.
