5 Kansas justices recuse selves from Phill Kline case

Kline, a good man? Now that's a laugh. A good man doesn't lie. A good man doesn't violate his oath of office in order
to fulfill a private agenda. The maximum penalty is the loss of his law license - a license he clearly does not deserve.

Kansas House votes to ban smoking in state casinos

And, look at that vote, 97-26. I'm impressed that the House, which hasn't done much else good this session, would pass a common sense measure like this. Oh, by the way, nobody is taking away anybody's right to smoke, but at least somebody is trying to protect the right to breathe air unpolluted with second-hand smoke and the stinch of it.

Statehouse Live: House Appropriations advances state employee pay cut; exempts support staff

The proposal I heard was a state employee earning $60,000 would have a 2.5% pay cut; an employee earning $80,000 would have a 5% cut and employees earning $100,000 and above would receive a 7.5% cut. Typical that Republicans want a "sliding scale" for those earning less than $100,000 per year, but no "sliding scale" for those earning more than $100,000. It would be more equitable to cut those earning $100,000, 7.5% (the present plan) and those earning $120,000, 10% and those earning $140,000, 12.5% and so on.

Obama nominates former Kansas Attorney General Steve Six to replace Tacha on federal appeals bench

This is the best news I've heard in months. Steve Six is a fantastic lawyer and jurist.
A life time appointment on the 10th Circuit is a great reward for excellent bi-partisan service to the people of the State of Kansas. Congratulations.

Who will win the election for Kansas Secretary of State?

The real fraud in this election is Kobach. If Kansans elect him it will only be to realize our mistake in four years, to undue our mistake. Remember Phil Kline?

Statehouse Live: Republicans concerned about political fallout from school finance plan, memo indicates

Really, we Kansans can do so much better than Brownback. Is there really a good reason why we Kansans should such an uninformed Washington politician to run our state? His school finance proposal should be a wake up call to all Kansans. Whether you like Tom Holland or not, there is no doubt he is a better choice for Kansas.

Tiahrt, Moran spar over conservative credentials

It's really distressing that these two are the best Kansas has to offer. One bright sign, one of them won't be voting against our best interest next year.

Parkinson to endorse Democrat Holland for governor

Tom Holland would make a great governor. I don't think most people in this state know how scary the alternative is.

Do you support Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson's proposed statewide ban on smoking in public places?

To suggest business owners have the right to spread the stinch of smoke is nonsense. Don't waiters and waitresses have the right to breath clean air like most other workers today? Yes, it's time for a statewide smoking ban.

Would a visit by President Bush sway your vote for Congress?

Actually, a Bush visit would make me more likely to vote for a Democratic candidate.
