Plans advance for School of Business building, `Rules of Basket Ball' museum, razing McCollum

All I want is the eastern most screen off of the windows of the last room on the south side of the 8th floor of McCullum. I don't know how many times that screen was removed so that others residing in the building (and else where) could throw Salvo tablets into the top of the water cooling system for the air conditioners that were directly below that window. What a mess of bubbles. Then the campus cops would once again interrogate all who lived within one floor of that window. It was the same summer that all of the fountains on campus were shut down and drained because of Salvo tablets. Forty-five plus years ago. (For the younger people - Salvo tables consisted of compressed laundry detergent about the size of a hocky puck. Apparently handy for a number of purposes.) (Also, in case you are wondering - the statute of limitations has long since pasted.)

Kansas Chamber of Commerce hires retiring House Speaker Mike O'Neal as its new president and CEO

Now, Now, O'Neal bought that job with our tax money fair and square. You leave him alone. He has always had to carry water for rich folk and pay them off with money that was not his own, and it probably bothers him as much and anyone . Poor little waif from Reno. (HoHoHo)

GOP nominee for NE Kansas statehouse seat withdraws

I seem to remember that it also worked for Pat Roberts in Dodge City many many years ago. And, maybe it still is.

Heard on the Hill: Wired magazine takes on KU mural; Newt Gingrich likes KU's Natural History Museum; reporter says good-bye

I wish you well. You have always been a periodic pleasant pause in a hectic week. Good writers are hard to find and you will be missed.

Do you think the original rules of basketball should be preserved in a new student center on campus?

My my, Babboy. . . Aren't you special? Proud of that car, are you? Well, good for you.

Pop quiz: What Kansas state symbols do you know?

I was in Sharon Springs years ago, and as luck would have it, I asked directions to Mt. Sunflower from probably the only person west of Hays who had never heard of the thing. Go figure.

Do you support the decision by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold the state’s approved route of South Lawrence Trafficway through the Baker Wetlands?

PLEASE BUILD THE DARNED THING, ALREADY. FOR THE SAKE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY AND UNHOLY, BUILD THE THING, ALREADY. WITHOUT IT LAWRENCE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A STAGNANT, TRAFFIC CONSTIPATED, COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL BURG. Pardon me for yelling.

Kansas legislators get kudos for transportation work

I am so sick of hearing about the South Lawrence Trafficway. I would dearly like the Journal World to take a pledge and not mention it again until the darned thing is built and they are having a ribbon cutting. AAARRRGGGGG Talk about an absolutely dysfunctional family being on display for the world, Lawrence, AAAARRRGGGG
