Whether or not you agree with her or JM it’s not helping to assert bad will. Let’s allow people to engage in meaningful dialogue so that we can all make well informed decisions.

I agree with Barbara’s last sentence but in general I’m opposed to Justice Matters and their heavy handed approach to things. That being said I am extremely disappointed in how the county commissioners have set this up with the property tax vote. It stinks.

Felonies, not pot smoking, filling up the Douglas County Jail, new report says

She did not misstate her meaning regarding the minorities. She meant, for example, that if all minorities account for 15% of the total DG population then why might 40% of the inmate population be persons of color? WHY are persons of color incarcerated at higher rates than whites? Many of us would like to see that issue addressed. It is UNACCEPTABLE.

Activist groups kick off their campaign against jail expansion

That would be $156 a day which seems pretty spot on - food, lodging, security, other services. Incarceration isn’t inexpensive.
