So let me summarize the right's position on this:
It's not the fault of the gun, people need to take personal responsibility for their actions.
However, violent video games and movies are clearly at fault.
There's sort of a disconnect there...

to everyone asking why he was carrying a loaded gun in his pocket into a restaurant:
obviously he's compensating for some other type of, shall we say, shortcomings. he probably also drives a big pickup truck for the same reason.
