Two injured in single car accident in Eudora

Umm....Lt Kari Wempe is a spokesperson for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, not Lawrence Police Department. Great fact-checking by the LJW, as usual.

retta - if you have not already - you should definitely give your witness account to the deputies investigating the accident

Accident blamed on stoplight confusion

I say take their licenses away and don't give em back until they pass driver's ed again, at their own expense, of course. This is a basic training issue, after all.

Runner reports seeing mountain lion along river levee

Okay people, you are in the midwest. We have wild animals here. Get over it. Generally, if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone. If you torment them, they will in turn torment you back. Law of nature, isn't it? I can't beleive how many people freak out about deer, skunks, and raccoons being in town as well. Where do you think they are going to be when they have little to no place to go. I guess they don't know how to read the "No Wild Animals" signs that people seem to think are posted at the city limits. Common sense says if you are aware of potential danger, avoid it. So stay away from the downtown clubs, restaurants that tend to get robbed, and the levee if you are afraid of big animals.

Wal-Mart submits plans for Sixth St. development

How is traffic at 6th/Wak any worse than anywhere else in town. Traffic is ridiculous all over town. It's the people on the road creating the traffic probs, not the businesses in the area. Keep people who do not know how to drive off the roads and maybe it would be a little safer, not to mention less congested.

Wal-Mart submits plans for Sixth St. development

I find it funny how many people think that adding a Walmart is what is "turning Lawrence into a Topeka or Jo Co". In reality, it is the nouveau riche with their half million dollar houses that really aren't worth that money, that is making that area of town nothing but a snob community. Just about everyone shops at Walmart for something, even the snobs. One Walmart in this town was not enough BEFORE all the new development, let alone after.

A.G. sues towing company

From what I see, you have not informed anyone of anything- only tried to defend yourself. I don't work for any tow company-but yes, I do know a lot about most of them.
