Opinion: Why gay role models matter

“I do not care about Mr. Collins’ sexuality,” Columnist Armstrong Williams.
Also, please elaborate why homosexuality is a "flaw" and a "genetic defect".

House Republican leaders propose 1.5 percent cut to higher education for each of next two fiscal years
"House Republicans had earlier offered to go to a 6 percent state sales tax, and the Senate countered with 6.25 percent.
'We think it's a legitimate offer,' said the Senate's chief tax negotiator, Les Donovan, R-Wichita. 'It's a path to get out of here,' he said.
Yes, nothing exhibits the spirit of legitimacy and compromise championed by Donovan and dear Gov. B more than a .05% concession. The key is in the last sentence of the quote. Let me help. Follow that path. Get out of here. Stay away.

Perhaps a return to "clothing optional" might be a good move?

Planning Commission recommends approval of Menards store for south Lawrence
Like I said yesterday, too bad for Lowes.
Next time you pass a Lowes, check to see where the Walmart is located. Next time you pass a Walmart (other than Lawrence) check to see where the Lowes is located. It appears this particular big box store likes to "box' itself only into locations adjacent to a certain other big box. That's their problem.

Crews race to find survivors of Oklahoma twister
With all the mechanical equipment available to dig basements sans shovels, that observation has to be either one of the least informed or laziest I've ever seen. If someone wants a freaking basement under their home, they have a contractor perform the work when the house is built. The homeowners don't sit around the dinner table after the fact, wringing their hands and bemoaning the diminution of the work ethic I can just hear them now: "How would we ever get the Erie Canal dug today?".
But don't let me disrupt your Faux fantasy.

Letter: Serious issue
You know toe, many years ago I worked on a county road crew repairing and replacing bridges and roads. Hard; no, very hard work under very arduous weather conditions. You couldn't find a harder working more dedicated bunch of employees anywhere. About 10 years later I worked in a state agency in Topeka assisting the public with legal issues. You couldn't find a harder working, better informed, dedicated to the public group of employees than those I had the privilege of working with in that agency.
I speak from experience. I suspect you speak from "Faux experience".
