'Happy years' give way to failing health, husband's decision to end wife's life

funding sources for in home care for limited and there are waiting lists. the option he was given was to sell his house to get care for Margaret. you two would have had to go into a nursing home facility with her. they would have had to leave their pets behind, give up everything they had known all these years intern the money over to the state . I don't consider that an option and I don't think anyone of you would either. in home care for the elderly and disabled should be readily available.no one should have to make the choice this man had to make.

Lawrence man sentenced to life in prison for killing his ailing wife

They weren't getting help. If the only way they could get help wad to sell everything to go to a nursing home well that is not help. People have the right to dignity. The judge had no choice based ln the charges filed, but Charles Branson filed the wrong charges. Shame on you Mr. Branson. Drug dealers get diversions. The guy that just got shot ln mothers day just got off probation fir robbery. But a old man driven to helplessness by a failed system gets life. Think about that!

Brother: Text message led to fatal Mother's Day shooting in East Lawrence

Brockman's friends are talking revenge ln Facebook. Not sure what the other guy was suppose to do when Brockman showed up with a shotgun. I guess he was suppose to let Brockman shoot him. From where I sit, if you take a him to a fight you can expect to be shot. I certainly hope the police are watching the Facebook discussions because these people are talking retaliation all the way from Mississippi and here as well.

Privacy enters debate on proposed Lawrence rental inspection program

Privacy issues really? Just put your bong away. The city needs these
rentals to be inspected because of all the slumlords in this town. the sfety issues outweigh a persons fear of not being able to use drugs freely.
