Seder dinner tells story of Passover through food — bitter, flat and otherwise
Dang! I would have loved to attend that. I hope you do it again next year, because I have put it on my mental calendar.

Sweeping abortion bill approved by Kansas House committee
It's a fetus not an IRA contribution, it's also pretty tough to fertilize 39 eggs in one year without medical intervention, other than that I'm totally on board with your thinking.

Recreation center debate causes commissioner to question 'relevance' of Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods; other notes from last night's Rock Chalk Park meeting
Of the dwindling amount of CDBG money that comes to the City of Lawrence, $0 goes either directly or indirectly to LAN. And the amount of those funds that goes to support stipends of any sort is extremely puny.

Two Lawrence residences attract HGTV attention
The house with the cars that you are thinking of wasn't forced to have an auction because of the state of the yard, but because the house had been vacant for at least 30 years or something. The house was deteriorating and no one was doing anything to maintain it. Nick's house, on the other hand, is quite habitable (I assume. I've never been in it) and everything in his yard is very intentional and generally constructed for the exact purpose it is serving. Same with KT for that matter.

Teen: Easy-Bake Oven should appeal to boys
No one is pitching a fit that footballs are marketed only to boys. The problem, to me, is not that the oven is a hideous swirly purple-pink that features girls on the box, but that boys are taught to dislike anything that is considered "girly." Pink is just as legitimate a color as blue and most young boys like pink until they are told not to.

Sound Off: I am a Lawrence property owner, resident and taxpayer. Why are city residents like myself
From what I understand, with the new compost distribution method that was implemented this fall, not as much was taken and the city still has compost available.
