Many fine beers come in cans these days. It's definitely changed from even five years ago.

Motorcyclist injured after Barker-19th roundabout crash
Actually the traffic calming devices are different than roundabouts. There are several T.C.D's in the neighborhoods between campus and 19th St. They have stop signs and act like normal intersections, but there's a big obstacle in the middle to force people to slow down.

Do you support the effort in New York City to limit the size of sugary drinkss?
On one hand,
Sugary drinks are terrible for you. No one should be drinking them -- in large or small amounts.
On the other hand,
The government shouldn't be telling people what they can or can't eat/buy.
Do not support.

Yes! Forget all these regulations about the amount of fat or some other nutrient that they can include. Just start serving Real Food and the students' health will improve.

Town Talk: UPDATE Glassware co. seeking tax abatement at East Hills; Kitchen and baking store to open in former Bay Leaf spot; Kia looks to be coming to former Auto Exchange on 23rd Street
You're right that they are *marked* as roundabouts. But they aren't actually roundabouts. In these intersections (at least the ones along 17th st), traffic going north-south has the right of way, and the east-west traffic has a stop sign. In a roundabout all incoming traffic has a yield to traffic currently in the intersection.

A car ignoring the right-of-way rules is irrelevant in this discussion. That can happen at any intersection, and it's not affected by the presence of the calming devices.
It sucks that you almost got hit on your bike, but that's specifically why I like the devices. It forces cars to slow down when going through the intersection, so I feel much safer going through on my bike.

Those aren't roundabouts, you don't have to go around it....just turn left like you normally would.
I like them because when I'm crossing one of those intersections, I often can't see traffic coming from the side because of a long line of parked cars. With the calming devices in the intersection, I at least know that no one will be coming down the road at 40 mph while I'm trying to cross.

June 29th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up
Actually I went back inside before he was removed from the car, so the police might have been the ones to do it. But the reason he wasn't removed initially was concern for his health, not because one of his doors was inoperable.
