Please explain

The additional sales tax is not a city sales tax. The revenue from the additional 1 or 2 percent sales tax stays with the businesses in the district; it doesn't go to the city.

Thanks for pointing out the problem with the turn lane location. Actually the city is looking at adding a turn lane from Harvard Road to approximately 300 feet south of University Drive.

Regents need to tighten oversight of state universities

JTF: Just to clarify, the only statutory requirements on regents' appointments are that each of the state's four congressional districts must be represented on the board and that no political party can have more than 5 representatives on the board. That statute doesn't address other background or expertise issues. Here's the link:

We lived in Wichita until I was 11 and I also remember that clown as something you wouldn't want to meet up with in a dark alley. Does anyone remember Kiddie Land, which was the other big Wichita amusement park in the '50s and '60s?
