TCU coach takes upset in stride
It was hard not to be happy for TCU last night. They played, I think, as well as they could. They hustled and were trying their best to win the game. KU, on the other hand, obviously has some serious issues they need to address in short order. I'm concerned there might me much more at stake here than just the loss of a good season. The problems with this team could have a bad impact on future KU teams as well. What recruit wants to be a part of something like that which happened last night. I will always root for the Jayhawks and pray they find the answers. Their sickness is causing the entire Jayhawk Nation to feel nauseous. Please, Get Well Soon Jayhawks!

Opinion: Setback as bad as it gets
I believe Coach Self is the best coach in America. Something is going on with this team and their chemistry. I think it might start with Johnson. Several games back his play began to really deteriorate and it's gotten worse each and every game. He is a senior that continues to make horrible mistakes. What's worse is that he doesn't seem to care. It's a cancer that has spread to the entire team. I don't know what the problem is but I'm concerned it may be far worse than any of us expect and it might be something HCBS is unable to deal with. I suspect there are some off the court issues with a couple of these players that is killing the team. I remember the thing about the 2008 team and most of the others Self has coached was that they all liked each other. I have not heard that said about this team and it concerns me. You can almost see it in the way the interact with each other. If it can be turned around I think Bill Self is the man to do it. But no matter what I will sure be happy to see a couple of these seniors move on at the end of the season.

Statehouse Live: Bill would require KU to play Wichita State University in basketball
I still have such a foul taste in my mouth from the last time WSU got lucky and beat us, aka "The battle of New Orleans".I was a semi-WSU fan until that game. My blood boils every time I think of those damned billboards the small minded fools in Wichita erected . They still blow and crow about that game and its been almost 30 years ago. I hope KU never stoops to play them and if our idiot politicians have nothing better to do than push an idea like that they should be ashamed of themselves. However, if you look at the record of the clown that introduced this "bill" you'll see he's one of the GOP's brightest lunatics. WSU is not anywhere close to being in a league with the Jayhawks and their fans rank right along side Mizzou's for a total lack of class.

Opinion: Guard play concern for KU
Johnson is having a terrible year. I think it was late in the game before he ever made it to the freethrow line. For a starting senior guard his play, or lack thereof, has been very disappointing. He's still making the same mistakes he made as a freshman. Perhaps Andrew White just hasn't had enough playing time to find his touch. But for a guy who was advertised as a great shooter he's been a bust. tharpe is showing signs of being a great guard and probably should be starting instead of Johnson. Just my opiniion.

Self praises KU bench's improved play, confidence
Once again those KSU idiots prove what a bunch of no class losers they are. Their fans made it almost impossible for me to root for them in last night's whupping by the Oregon Ducks.

Magic hire former KU guard Jacque Vaughn as head coach
Shaq is an idiot. He hasn't liked KU since they beat him at LSU and then Big O outplayed him in the NBA. Congratulations Jaque! I just beccame a Magic fan.

KU freshmen Ben McLemore, Jamari Traylor ineligible for 2011-12 season
I'd like to know how many other major recruits have been denied the chance to play for college teams. Maybe I just haven't heard about it because I don't follow some of the others (Duke, NC, Kentucky) that closely, but it seems like we go through this every year. I'm probably just being a homer but it seems like the NCAA has never really done KU any favors.

Fighting with pride: WBC welterweight champ Victor Ortiz representing Kansas well
I have been following Victor's career for some time now. The challenges he overcame in life dwarf any he might face in the ring. He IS a Jayhawk through and through. To see him fight in AFH would be fantastic. Best wishes to him as he wears his crown like a true Champion.

Will KU basketball team play Wichita State? Zenger's not so sure after hearing about ‘chickenhawks’ comment
The Shockers have been blowing and going in the Wichita paper recently, calling KU cowards who are afraid to play WSU. I hope KU never gives them the honor of meeting on a basketball court. Wichita needs to learn ow to win with class before they should be allowed on the same floor with KU. The last time they played and WSU won, in New Orleans about thirty years ago, they proved how classless they are by putting large billboards all over town crowing about their victory in NO.They had a fine season, winning the NIT. but they weren't good enough to make the NCAA Tournament and have no business taunting a team who made it to the Elite 8 and is only a couple of years out of a National Championship.
