Kansas' minimum wage to change from $2.65 to $7.25 on Jan. 1

Minimum wage laws are criminal: they harm both workers and businesses.

Lawrence man faces multiple federal drug charges

This man should be freed at once. He has harmed no one.

Do you think Bush-era officials responsible for harsh interrogations should face trial?

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

A majority of respondents to this poll seem to believe that kidnapping and torture are morally permissible when these acts are performed by agents of the state.

I have little reason to believe that any of the kidnappers and torturers will be held accountable for their crimes, or that their victims will receive any restitution, for the current regime is populated with individuals complicit in those very same crimes.

Police execute search warrant at apartment of a KU student body president candidate

I don't see the humor in this and hope he is at least expelled after this semester.

Did you watch the video? At that moment, the music starts playing, with the lyrics "Never gonna find another man like that." I assumed the shooting scene was feigned machismo.

Tutu, as I wrote above, I thought your video was funny and creative. In no way should it warrant your expulsion, much less having the police search your place.

I saw this video (http://bit.ly/nGTsQ) when it was first released—it was well-produced, funny, and obviously not meant to be threatening. I'm guessing the “scary guns” caused some people to mistake it for a threat.

Mexico drug war affects immigrants

"Mexico's chaos," as the author terms it, is wholly a product of the United States' War on People (excuse me, I mean "War on Drugs"), prosecuted in coordination with its client state to the south.

And, to the commenters who, predictably, complain about illegal immigrants: they are people just like you. Because of an imaginary and arbitrary line in the desert, they are prevented from pursuing their dreams unless they first waste years of their lives waiting in line, filling out forms, and begging for the chance to obtain the "privilege" of U.S. citizenship, a privilege most of you were granted at birth.

End the War on People and open the border to goods and immigrants.

Should the United States loosen trade restrictions with Cuba?

All trade restrictions and other protectionist measures should be abolished at once. Not only are they contraventions of freedom, but they also do considerable harm, here and abroad.

Faith Forum: What’s a good way to introduce a child to faith?

"What's a good way to introduce a child to faith?"

Explain to him or her that some people choose to adopt foolish ideas without logical or evidentiary support, and that these rather contemptible individuals will respond with anger or resentment when their fantasies are examined critically.
