University of Kansas, not Kansas University. Are you guys that clueless and ignorant?

Storm misses Lawrence — evidence of the Tonganoxie split?
Reason why big storms miss always seem to "split" and go around is pretty basic, its a change in pressure form the hills/elevation.
Same reason why you very rarely see tornadoes, serious storms in large urban metro areas. The big buildings change the air pressure and wind and its not as conducive for big storms to move/continue.

KU seeks tougher admissions criteria
Also, why does the LJWorld always refer to KU as "Kansas University" when KU has specifically said it should never be that, and should only be the University of Kansas?
Purposely doing it? Bad journalism? Politics? Stupidity?

KU seeks tougher admissions criteria
Its about time. These standards are still not hard to achieve. You should have to do something more than just graduate high school to be able to get into college.

KU, Lawrence joining forces to improve students' off-campus behavior
Just ridiculously stupid.
This stuff has been happening for decades. Who cares? Kids are going to drink somewhere, let them drink at houses they can walk to instead of making them go elsewhere.
This countries view on drinking in general is just insane. There is a reason the US has more problems than other countries worldwide when it comes to drinking. We try to ignore it and shove issues under the rug rather than confronting, educating, and preparing kids for alcohol and what they will see/do/encounter in college.
Its not even just a local thing, its a national view that needs to change.

27 people cited, mostly for underage drinking violations, in special patrol Thursday evening, early Friday
"The Hawk: three counts"
lol, were there four people there? You could walk into the hawk any night of the week and 75% of the people in there are underage.

Underage drinking crackdown shifts from bars to parties
You can drive a vehicle at 16.
You can fight in a war at 18.
You can buy cancer causing cigarettes at 18.
You are legally an adult and on your own at 18.
You can legally drink a beer at 21.
If it makes sense, the US government does the opposite.
The view and taboo subject of drinking in this country is just stupid. Rather than talk about avoidance and how everyone will die if you drink, we need to teach drinking responsibly. Kids are going to drink anyway, and the results would be far better.

Test of KU emergency system planned for Tuesday afternoon
Well when KU clearly says its NOT "Kansas University" you'd think these guys could figure it out. Pretty basic journalism.

Test of KU emergency system planned for Tuesday afternoon
Seriously, when will you guys learn? Its the University of Kansas, not Kansas University. Its pretty sad, and incredibly disappointing when the local paper can't even get easy things like that correct. Terrible journalism.

Developers plan to shorten proposed hotel at Ninth and New Hampshire, while planning 80-foot building across the street
Sorry you live on the back of New Hampshire street, but that property is zoned differently, and it doesn't have to be single story homes. Sorry you won't have a nice field to go play in anymore, but that's the way it is. You don't like it...too bad. Lawrence needs to keep developing near Mass St. This is a good idea in a place that needs it, start building.
