Now that QL's is at the VFW, where did AB's go?

Lawrence wants more questions answered on $1M loan guarantee for Internet project

Like I said, he may not be the right person for the job considering his history in Lawrence. A municipal backed fiber service would be wonderful, but the WOW exclusivity reigns...

Lawrence wants more questions answered on $1M loan guarantee for Internet project

WOW and AT&T need competition. Whether Josh Montgomery is the person to do it remains to be seen, but there's no way he can do it without the support of the community and the city.

Just because you do not personally need gigabit service, it's a poor thing to do to not support building out of infrastructure ahead of the curve. A day will inevitably come when fiber will be not only useful, but necessary to compete with other services with speed of content delivery, efficiency, and reliability. Three things I would not trust any type of Comcast, AT&T or WOW with...

City upholds decision on West Lawrence roundabout despite new objections from neighbors

Better a roundabout than a stop sign. No one in this town understands how dual lane stop signs are supposed to work and I want to tear my hair out every time I drive down Wakarusa between 15th and 6th.

KU broadcaster David Lawrence to open West Lawrence sports restaurant and bar; update on Limestone pizza restaurant downtown

I tried Limestone on Thursday of last week. Good pizza, but the ambiance is a little...off. The place looks great, but the servers were a little odd, there are only a few types of pizza (4!) and you can't custom create a pizza. Also, they have the glass bottles of warm water on the table with tumbler sized glasses and no ice. What's up with that?

Westar starts $200,000 solar panel project in Lawrence; commissioners win award for Rock Chalk Park

It's my understanding that home attached solar panels are only supplementary. Photovoltaic cells, while having improved significantly in the last decade or so in efficiency, still isn't particularly efficient per dollar spent, nor is it generally that efficient at converting sunlight into electricity.

It's getting better all the time, but it's a slow process.

Traffic signals installed at K-10 and 6th Street interchange

I drive out that way all the time. There's not nearly enough traffic at any time except holidays and gamedays to justify having signals there.

Signs indicate Freebirds Burrito has closed downtown Lawrence location; new plan emerges for affordable housing near 23rd and O'Connell

I ate at Chutney's once. Never again, and I'm not sorry it's closed. It was cafeteria style Indian food and was not good in the slightest.

Letter: Loss of trust

Asterisk: You can keep your plan, unless it's irresponsibly and criminally misrepresented as being insurance when it's really just a tithing towards the actual cost of having an accident or severe illness.

Signs that Chick-fil-A seeking store site on South Iowa Street; Dick's Sporting Goods likely opening in June

Partly this, but mostly I just don't even think their food is that good.

Chad, please tell us there's plans for an In-n-Out, Whataburger and Costco on the horizon.
