Weather chills early post-holiday shopping

This is news? I hate how the media is a cheerleader for our runaway consumer spending. Can't we just enjoy the holidays without all the narration from people concerned we aren't spending ourselves into enough debt for Christmas?

Fair tax

What happens when people hold on to their money? If no one spends enough, do we just stop funding education, rebuilding highways, or funding the military? This sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. In a down economy with high unemployment I don't see this as a reliable way to generate necessary revenue.

This is how larger communities have been dealing with this issue. It is not extreme. It is not a token--it is doing what you can do. Evolve your thinking past a $4 dollar increase per month or the storage of the containers.
