Planned Parenthood says it will receive abortion license, expects to withdraw federal lawsuit

Right....so, I'm sure you will be devoting your efforts to making sure that clean and sanitary clinic opens up soon, right? Since that's really the concern behind this law?

But will they be profiling for Topekans?

100 years ago: Hit-and-run collision with Mass St. bicyclist

How did they know they were from Kansas City? Were all crimes 100 years ago blamed on Kansas Citians the way we blame Topekans today?

Heard on the Hill: UPDATED: Parking director clarifies parking fee information; Alumni Association basketball rallies scheduled in San Antonio; KU Medical Center offers social media connections, too

“More people are choosing to take the bus, so we’ll probably raise (permit prices), but not more than $10 a permit,” Hultine said.

I'd love to see some follow-up on this quote.

Didn't the students just vote for fee increases within the last few years so that the bus system would be fare free? It seems that the increase in people riding the buses was celebrated as a success of the program. Is re-instituting a bus pass you have to buy designed to drive those numbers down or just take advantage of the increased number of riders?

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the comment or am confused about the current system.

Heard on the Hill: Another vice chancellor for public affairs candidate announced; looking for the highest-paid KU employee; KU Cancer Center adds new researcher

Well, partially because the state keeps cutting funding and the money has to come from somewhere. That shouldn't be that hard to figure out, right?

State Rep. Anthony Brown criticizes Lawrence, KU

Compare the growth rate of Lawrence to those of the rural communities of western Kansas and tell me why "that needs to change." Sadly, there are those that use to political leanings of Lawrence as a reason to punish the town and the university financially and then wonder why so many young and educated Kansans flee the state upon graduation.

Can Scientists be Republicans?

No, it must be bias. Why would scientists have a problem with a political party closely associated with anti-evolution viewpoints, distorting or covering up science that isn't politically convenient for them, or defunding basic research? Nah, it's gotta be poll bias.

Kansas Democrats could lose three state offices

If anyone cares at all about keeping the Secretary of State office in fair, non-partisan hands they'll vote for Biggs. If they want someone who will waste the state's time and money pursuing his personal agenda...well, you probably know who to vote for.
