Lawrence-based Wicked Broadband announces plan to install super-fast 1 gigabit Internet service to Lawrence neighborhood

Cities that are smart will NOT deal with Google. You do realize what Google got was ALL FREE right? The City and those stupid tax payers are paying for that network and those shareholders that should kickout/fire the CEO. Google wanted EVERYTHING for free including trying to hang their fiber lines in an UNSAFE area of the poles without paying for the proper install crew. Why? They did NOT want to pay and are doing the network on the cheap. and actually a Rec Center is better than a fiber network because a fiber optic network is NOT going to keep this country in shape. Instead it will do nothing but make the population MORE obese. And you keep supporting Google, soon will be the day where when they are hacked; you will lose everything; as they are like FB and know EVERYTHING about you. And they sell it to the highest bidder and even to the NSA.

Data caps? All providers have them. AT&T does NOT enforce their's on U-Verse FTTN/FTTH networks nor on their IPDSL network. WOW also does not have a hard cap- but like TWC they do have a soft cap that is NEVER talked about. Read your TOS.

You do realize that what you said about sharing is total BS right? Cable and DSL are BOTH shared mediums of Internet and are BOTH subject to slow downs. The only difference is where the people are connected. DSL is at the DSLAM- and YES if too many people are on that DSLAM compared to the connection to the Internet; YOU WILL SLOW DOWN. Cable is just at the NODE and not the CMTS. Too many people on the node vs speed to the CMTS- you will slow down. Please stop spreading DSL marking fud from the 90s/early 2000s and actually educate yourself on both networks. Heck- even a T1 direct to the Internet is a shared resource once it hits the Internet.
