We work very hard to make sure we produce and provide quality and value in our efforts and our reputation is very important to us. Pakistani Taliban confirm leader’s death

They threaten our security, treat women as cattle, grow dope, hid and protect 9/11 masterminds, blow up girls schools (with the children inside), kill athletes, hide behind innocents, turn the stadiums into public execution sites, so on and so forth.

So what would you propose Mr.Shewmon? We back off and just wait for them to come our way again? Maybe you should leave American and go live with them if you feel so strongly we're in the wrong.

And to Mr. unsavoryagent...The NVA had outposts on the Cambodian border with swimming pools! They would attack us and then slink back across the border where we were told to stop and not pursue. When we at last took off after them we set them back several years before they could invade again. Maybe if you found one of your friends violated and nailed to a tree you'd feel differently but my guess is you've never been off your couch.

Apartment proposal divisive

Let's hope they use local contractors on this one. Most of the 23rd Street apartments have been built by out of town contractors. Let's keep the money in Lawrence not send it to Texas. The complex on 31st across from Home Depot was built by out of town contractors and subs and now the story is the units are in Chapter 11.

‘Tea party’ is Palin’s people

She's a quitter. Plain and simple. When the going got tough, she quit. Thank goodness she didn't get to Washington. Can you imagine? I can't believe that people think she's something special. But I see those people on Jay Leno every night. You know, the ones who don't know how many stars are on our flag, the ones that thought our new Supreme Court Justice was Roseanne in the photograph. Heaven help us.

Kansas Athletics buys Lawrence's First Serve Tennis Center

Seems a little tasteless to add that comment about his pending divorce. Doesn't really relate to the basic theme.

Performance in Manhattan, against Missouri earns Aldrich Big 12 player of the week honors

Mr. Aldrich was phenomenal. He certainly deserves this acknowledgment. He was just unstoppable under the basket. At times it seemed like he could touch the roof rafters. Kudos to you sir!

Collins wills Kansas past Wildcats in OT

He traveled! On that lost shot in overtime Collins traveled. He took a full three steps after his last dribble. The shot shouldn't have counted. My friend pointed it out to me and after we backed it up on Tivo and ran it at slow speed you can clearly see he took 3 steps and then shot. It shouldn't have counted and K-State should have won the game. A great player but he traveled!

Obama needs economic turnaround

Good point Mix. I'm getting tired of everyone blaming Obama for where we're at right now. It's congress. Our supposed leaders are acting more like the Crips and the Bloods than democratic leaders. The partisanship is appalling. You can't tell me there wasn't one Republican that didn't think there was some good in the health care plan and maybe vote for it? Or one Dem that thought it wasn't just right? A perfect party line 60/40 vote? It's almost like middle east politics. Tribal.

It takes a while to turn things around and for the shape we were in, that's a big turn. John Q. Public is so dense. Just watch Jay Leno's street interviews. Perfectly normal, intelligent people can't even tell you how many stars are on the American flag.

Pinewood Derby whittles scouting skills

This is the best photo I've ever seen in the paper! Love the looks on the kids faces. Unabashed joy and innocence. Priceless! A great organization and hat's off to the Leaders and Parents that made the effort to produce this event.
