Brownback signs Kansas income tax cut bill into law
"The changes in income tax rates include an adjustment in the standard deduction for personal income taxes starting in tax year 2014."
An "adjustment"? Call it what it is, a reduction.

WOW to begin work later this month on upgrade to boost Internet speeds in city
I've had more problems with my cable in the last month with Wow than I did in the previous 2 years with Knology. Maybe the timing of the problems are just coincidental, maybe not. I do know I've been bombarded with advertising from Wow telling us how great their customer service is. Meanwhile, I have to call them to ask why the repair technician has not shown up an hour after the 2 hour appointment window I was given. So far, I am far from impressed with Wow and look forward to the day when they do not have a monopoly on cable service in Eudora.

Analysis: 2013 legislative session over; results will be judged by Kansas voters
Well, to be fair, I will certainly be voting against anyone with an (R) next to their name.

GOP tax plans would increase taxes on low-wage Kansans, decrease taxes for high-income Kansans, report says
Of course, they'll just blame Obama.

Knology changes its name to WOW!; lifts usage caps on Internet service
Really? I'd imagine it's the same people. It's not like they fired everyone from Knology and brought in all new staff.

City to use eminent domain to take over dilapidated East Lawrence property; Just Food seeks $25,000 in CDBG funding to expand dairy, meat offerings
It isn't just Wal-Mart that does this. I was once an Assistant Manager for Walgreen's and every night I would have to throw away perfectly good food to ensure we got a credit for it. Giving it away, I was told, was not an option.

City of Lawrence begins using new automated trash truck
I live in Eudora where we have this type of service and it's great. You put big items out at the first of the month. Plus, I don't come home to find my trash can in the middle of my driveway or strewn about somewhere else like I did when I lived in Overland Park.

Mexican restaurant Tapas closes as it loses lease on downtown building; Mexquisito expands into Eudora
Fuzzy's tacos are great. Judging by the crowds when I go there, I'd say a lot of other people agree.
