Proposed recycling service leaves future of private curbside recycling companies uncertain
Why will they not pick it up every week like our trash? We have Deffenbaugh and we have recycling every week and we fill our container up.

Lawrence man sentenced to four days in jail, anger management classes, for tying dog's hind legs
"Snowton injured the dog through poor judgment and not malicious intent." That is the most bizarre thing I have ever heard. So someone shoots someone and its just poor judgement not malicious intent. What the judge was thinking is its just a dog . Crap its just crap. Who knows what this guy did to the dog to get bite him in the first place. No he should not get the dog back. And the only "mistake" this guy made was getting caught he learned nothing and hoping his anger is directed toward someone big enough to protect themselves from him next time not an innocent animal.

Landlords speak out against proposed expansion of city's rental licensing program
I would love to see the older neighborhoods cleaned up, like the one I grew up in on Harper and drove through to see recently and found so run down. Broke my heart.

Landlords speak out against proposed expansion of city's rental licensing program
Maybe the City should inspect houses for homeowners who do not take care of their own properties. Take a drive for instance through the 1500 & 1600 blk of Harper ( Not the only neighborhood with issues but one I have driven through lately and noticed) Cars parked in yards, campers piled with junk, equipment in yards the houses look like they are falling in It looks terrible and I am sure the insides of those houses have severe neglect as well if the outsides look that bad. The City codes are a joke. They make them and no one follows or enforces them. It is very sad to see how neighborhoods are deteriorating when they are allowed to continually be run down.

Missing Free State student returns home unharmed
It says the last time they heard from her was a text. Who's phone did she text from? Seems like there should be an amber alert issued! Praying she is found safe SOON.

Town Talk: Local Burger looking for new Lawrence location; local veggie burger firm signs national deal with Whole Foods; homeless shelter update; lots of numbers on proposed rec complex
I love Local Burger and the veggie patties are amazing. I hope they do find another location so those of us her prefer good food not deep fried, processed food can eat a little more healthy.
