City mulls on-call T bus service
^This has got to be the longest running troll session ever. Because no human being could be as obtuse, unempathic and cruel as this person is.

City mulls on-call T bus service
First off, the buses that will be used with this service are the smaller, 18 seat, para-van style NOT the 20,000lb 32-footers. They're lighter, more maneuverable, and more fuel efficient and cost efficient.
Second, these buses aren't going to be deployed to pick up just ONE person. They will be picking up the many people that need the service during the off-hours. I've heard so many people requesting the service be extended later and now the city is responding. This is a GOOD THING.
I'm getting so very tired of the constant hate and vitriol being dumped all over the T and it's customers. Any city worth it's salt requires a public transit system. The service has been improving drastically over the years and the people running the show are listening to the needs of the customers and doing the best they can to provide appropriate service. The money "wasted" on the service is going in large part to all the drivers and employees, most of whom live and shop and pay their bills in Lawrence so the money is circulating within the community. No public transit service makes a profit, that's just the way it is. A teeny tiny fraction of your sales tax goes to provide this wonderful service and I for one am happy to pay it. Many thanks to everyone who supports the T. Keep ridin' and show the haters the error of their ways.

'She's a keeper': Formerly homeless couple weds
Congratulations to Cora and Bill! I used to work with her at Goodwill and now regularly pick up Bill in my bus when he heads to the store. Both great people, couldn't be happier.

Lawrence reacts to bin Laden's death
Definitely not staged. My friends and I were walking to Harbour Lights when we saw the flag wavers at about 11pm.

Dead Bars I Used To Love
I don't know if anyone remembers it but there was a bar/venure called Jesters that used to operate in the Varsity building where Urban Outfitters is now. I wasn't old enough to drink at the time but I remember that they had couches and bookshelves, clocks enough for every time zone, and awesome chili cheese fries. A little arcade too. Lawrence needs something like that again!

Town Talk: UPDATE Douglas County population grows 10.9 percent for decade: slowest growth since 1940; UFO (enthusiasts) to descend on downtown; new building permit map shows growth hot spots
Prophets. I'm a believer.

It should be repurposed into something for the kids. A Chuck E' Cheese or arcade or something.

Jefferson's Restaurant assets to be sold at auction
I'm not sorry to see it go. The food was nothing special, the wait staff would ignore you if you looked "alternative" in any way, and it was just too small and dingy. And apparently the owners were borderline crooks.

Judge rules against Lawrence homeless shelter; move away from downtown up in the air
Actually, route 5 goes down K-10 to the industrial park and back. It's quite popular.
