Unbeaten Olathe East overpowers Free State soccer, 4-0, in state quarterfinals

You are correct, one of the best games of the year was when the JV beat OE 2-0. Trahan had them ready to play. They beat OE to almost every ball and really controlled the tempo. There are some great players in waiting on both varsity and JV, natural goal scorers and an outstanding keeper, positions that are often the most difficult and key spots to fill in high school soccer. The next two years look very bright.

SM West routs Lawrence High soccer, 7-0

Cato, you are partially correct. Only it has more to do with the numbers of players who play on competitive premier teams. Many Lawrence parents understandably do not want to travel to KC for games and tournaments. It is a huge time committment. You can't play at the highest level by just staying in Lawrence. SMW clearly has a higher percentage of players who grew up playing premier than LHS. Same could be said for Free State. Keeping score and the goalie issue has nothing to do with it. If you want to improve and compete with the best you have to travel outside of Larryville.

Free State soccer shuts out Olathe North

We need a huge turnout at this one from the Free State fan base. Parents and player should all extend some invitations out to friends to come to the game. These girls have all done the work and deserve outstanding support. Go State!

Short-handed Lions mercy-ruled by Olathe East

Forget about the injuries and scoring against opponents of this caliber. Try a 4-5-1 and pack it in on the defensive half. If you put 8-10 players in front of the opponent in a small space it can be very difficult to score. Clear everything in the box wide and far one touch.

Does anyone know if both Lawrence High School boys soccer teams have ever posted non-losing records in the same season?

LHS soccer edges Shawnee Heights

Looks like LHS will host Junction City and FSHS will host Topeka High. If both win they will face off again at FSHS.

LHS frustrated by latest tie

Spanked 1-7. FS was missing a key starter and SMNW is simply great. FS is a better team on turf and in low scoring matches.

Free State soccer blanks Mill Valley

Neither is elite so stop the pissing contest. LHS can take pride in playing all their opponents tough. FSHS can take pride in getting to host a regional game.
