Dollar coin
The dollar's quickly going the way of the quarter, but not yet. People still carry too many singles around to accept coin for paper. Wait ten more years when we're using our fives like we use our ones today, then spring a presidential dollar coin on us.

Residents brainstorm about city growth ideas
There goes a recycling program and a stop light at 23rd and Tennessee. They could even squeeze in a sidewalk for Tennessee if they started budgeting reasonably.

Residents brainstorm about city growth ideas
That's the future? The past is our future? As a Lawrence resident I'm starting to get the feeling that we are all f*cked.

Report: Driver may have been drinking
That sucks this happened to such a bright, young student, but it was like 2:30 in the morning. Are we really reporting that alcohol was a factor like someone's going to be surprised? Some things may be best left unsaid, especially if it's not news.

Do no harm
Did anyone ever define "too low", as in the "census is too low to justify reopeing"? How could any number over zero be too low?

Survey to gauge public desire for new rec facilities
"NERDS!
How about we open up another homeless shelter instead!
Excellent Idea! That way the flacid flabby kids that are being produced in our government schools will have some where to stay warm in adulthood."
Yeah, a new rec center would really take care of that issue.
