Letter from the 1940s lands in local mailbox - 60 years after sent

They said it was found in supposedly empty equipment...That makes me wonder how equipment has been sitting around the post office for 50 years without being used... Another fine example of our tax dollars at work...

Has nothing to do with the fact that he was a democrat... It was because he was from MISSORRY... You must be a newb to KS...

Sebelius' coal veto stands

Global warming means that there are extreme climate shifts... Maybe that would explain the May blizzard in KS?Trying watching something besides Bill O' Lielly or Hee Haw... Hearing people spout off about something they know little about is like watching Faux News...

Sebelius' coal veto stands

I find it hilarious to read the asinine comments about how this veto will end future investment in KS. Companies will go where they can pay cheap wages. Eliminating a coffin factory posing as a power plant will not prevent other companies from coming if they truly want to come. If anything, it will show that we care about what happens to the state and the planet. That will be an enticement in itself to companies who actually care instead of trying to use western KS as a toilet. If this sends a message to polluters that KS is off limits, then that's a good message IMO.

The very people who want to complain about the governor overstepping her authority are the same ones who belong to the party that do nothing but overstep their authority.... Hypocrisy... Alive and well among the GOP in KS... Can you say 'warantless wire taps' or 'waterboarding' or 'Terry Schiavo'?Thank GOD the governor will stand up to those white old farts out (and their Stepford wives) in western KS who only care about T Boone Picken's money and Viagra... They'll be long dead before it's an issue so thank GOD again that greed and selfishness lose once in awhile...

Power plant struggle resumes

I'll take an eyesore on a planet that we can live over no eyesores on a planet devoid of life...

Do you plan on watching the Oscars?

The only good byproduct of the Oscars is that it may make me a rent a movie I normally wouldn't.... Sometimes it's a really good way to find a gem that doesn't have the financial backing of the big studios that love to produce only what they think will rake in the $$$... We know their taste is impeccable... NOT... LOL...

Do you think the withdrawal of British troops will affect U.S. decision-making about Iraq?

Where to begin??

Thanks for all the kind comments about the pics. MS_Canada - My name is homage to Sen Brownback.... When I hear his name, I think of Fudgepack for some reason...

Boldaq- I don't know where to begin with you...
First of all, I'm not a 'leftwing whacko'... I'm about as down the middle as you can get... I voted for Reagan and Bush Sr.... I have voted democratic since but that's mainly because of my experiences with ODS... I own lots of guns and have more conservative core values than 'liberal' ones... Too bad the current administration has hijacked the term 'conservative' (their hardly conservative...)

The shrub always scared me and if it wasn't for the supreme court, we would have avoided this entire Iraq mess... We'd still be in Afghanistan but I think much of the world would still be behind us if that was just the case... I also think we'd have had much more progress if our troops were there in numbers to finally stomp out the Taliban... Who knows, they kicked Russia's butt so that could be a quagmire too but I'd like to think more troops there would have helped....

As far as the rest of your tirades, I'm just going to summarize... I think Iran just wants the nuclear capability because we've proven we treat countries much differently when they have one... Who wouldn't want that bargaining power? Do they plan on attacking someone with one?? Hardly.... They would be piledrived back into the stone age if they attempted that... They like their IPODS and halter tops as much as the next person... It will never happen but the ability to instantly have respect is something any country would want... They're just trying to guarantee their security like the next guy...

PS... I'm only on here during work... So if I disappear after 3:30, that's why...

Gootsie - No, but I can see a resemblance...

Maybe Conan O'Brien's dad was a travelling salesman... LOL...
