Venita Chenault Acting President of Haskell Indian Nations University tries to control Haskell's Student Senate.

And THANKFULLY, Patrick Freeland had the heart to tell us to just go ahead with collection efforts anyway. Sheesh

No monetary gains? Riddle me this: I just asked Janice Mendez if she could waive the $50 booth fee at the HINU welcome back pow wow so we can raise funds for the Cheyenne River Sioux Disaster Relief. They've been through 2 ice storms and 15,000 residents are without electricity and water. Dialysis patients are in danger, people are freezing to death up there and all the red cross and national efforts are pretty much going to Haiti.

And you know what Janice Mendez told me?

That will be $50 for the booth. Funny, she failed to mention its only $25 for students. Even funnier is the fact that she hung up on me after that call.

Yeah. She's a charachter alright.

Haskell Indian Nations University’s .

I'm sorry, what was that you said about Miss Milk?

You really are a disrespectful little puppet at its finest. But I got enough faith in my Creator to know I dont have to approach you and give you something to cry about. Watch your OPINIONS. >=(

Haskell Indian Nations University Acting President Venida Chenault say’s no to Haskell’s Student Senate President attending this years AHIEC conference.

And another thing, Janice Mendez would be the LAST PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE that I would want to represent Haskell in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. Quote me.

Yeah! Give Janice Mendez support!

Especially since I just approached her about possibly waiving the fee for booth space for the CHEYENNE RIVER SIOUX DISASTER RELIEF so that we can raise funds and she said "That'll be $50"

She was quite reluctant to mention that a student purchasing the booth would be $25.

So yeah. Support Janice Mendez. She deserves it.

SARCASM MUCH?!?

I'M GOING HUNGRY

Anna, Its no different than what those people are going through in South Dakota. I've had some serious discussions with some people and it sounds like there are some efforts being made (Walmart, SD national guard, etc) and that is fantastic. I'm thinking of doing something more organized and public, like asking other people to get involved in this hunger strike and doing a documentary about it as well.

Gilly-Thank you very much for your own research and consideration. I for one appreciate it beyond words. =)

LarryNative- Goodness. Aint it the truth. *smirk*

alm77- How would one go about that? I'd love to learn.

Lawrence losing shoppers

Lawrence has corny stores. I'm a broke fool who would rather get a bunch of friends to chip in on gas money and drive the extra hour to get to The Legends or Great Plains mall rather than go to Old Navy AGAIN, or JC Penny AGAIN or Perkins AGAIN!

Haskell president's return delayed; Warner assigned to Bureau of Indian Education office in Oklahoma City

Whenever someone has something to say that goes against what sypeccary thinks haskell should be, they sure are quick to say they are an AIS major. Maybe sypeccary should go to haskell to learn some new insults eh? lol

I agree with just_another_bozo (story of my life...) LOL

I'd like to see some people get to know our treaties, start pressuring to government about it and remind them that education is supposed to be FREE for Native Americans. I dont want to hear about what other people are paying, that shouldn't matter. We shouldnt see fees IN THE FIRST PLACE.
