City gateway taking shape

I agree with Merrill and simplifying but this is leap frog development. Let the housing fill first then build something. Do developers who build cheap apartment buildings and expensive homes make good shopping center developers? Downtown is hurting and this will hurt it more. Sixth and Wakarusa is quickly becoming empty. Build up, not out. Take care of the downtown first.

Gas or charcoal?

I want outdoor grills banned. They are dangerous.

Builders review methods after collapse of deck

The City of Leavenworth doesn't require a fence around a pool. I checked with their codes enforcement. They get the question at least once a year, but nobody has ever petitioned the city to make the rule.

Builders review methods after collapse of deck

I think lag screws are not required in Leavenworth, but then again, you can build a swimming pool and the city doesn't require a fence around it either.

How far can you stretch $300,000?

The building industry abd the city of Lawrence needs to take advantage of the REAL Dollars concept, expecially with interest rates creaping up. Lawrence has our own currency that nobody uses. A true visionary ideal from the Honarable Boog Higherberger that needs a second look during Shrub's newly created recession.

What can people do to conserve water?

A long handled fish net, a bucket and the compost pile in the yard saves water.

LMH plans smoke-free campus

What a fantastic idea. The City of Lawrence owns LMH so they have the power to bring this idea to the whole city that most will welcome. This is the golden opportunity for a total ban. We need to make this happen people!

K-10 hazard

This road needs to have its speed limit reduced to 45 MPH from the Douglas County line in and to the Johnson County line heading east. It also needs a toll booth for all leaving town like the commuters and people who don't shop local. Charge a quarter for every car leaving town. It will generate $150,000 a month!

We've got the numbers, we've taken over, and we are organized! Let's make it happen.
