Biography
Why would I want to bore everyone that much?
I will say that there's a reason I choose to stay an anonymous user. As a practicing mental health professional, it's never a good idea to give out too much information your clients can use - especially as in my first post I pretty much told people exactly where I live! (Ever see the movie "What About Bob?")
How I came to live in Lawrence
We don't. But the reason we came to Baldwin is because my wife grew up here and we wanted to be closer to her family.
Hobbies
Building, fixing, upgrading computers, and chasing around and cleaning up after a wild five year old.
Favorite music
Anything but country and hip-hop/rap/whatever it's called these days. Other than that, anything from classical to acid rock is great.
Favorite books
I'm a big Tom Clancy fan, also Stephen Coonts, and some other good military-techno thriller novelists. But most of the time I'm too busy with journals, textbooks, CEU courses, and the like.
Favorite TV shows
Not too many on regular television these days. I used to like Boston Legal, but I really get turned off by TV producers/writers/directors/actors who feel obligated to insert every 'issue' from the news (particularly political ones) into the storyline week after week. I watch a lot of the History channel, Discover, etc., when I have the time.
Favorite movies
I'm a big fan of 'realistic' science fiction. I mean the kind where everything isn't spotless and perfect, but where things are dirty and rusty and dented and held together with duct tape. Serenity is my favorite movie, but there's close to 1000 movies stored on my media center, and they cover a pretty broad range of genres.
