Construction worker critically injured in fall at Eudora building site
This is why I continue to say that St. Luke's needs to build a trauma center out south and run Gene Meyer and his dog and pony show out of business.

Victim disappointed in dismissal of rape charges in 1985 case
She may not see individual justice for her own attack but she can always write the board or go to his upcoming parole hearings to have her voice heard and keep him incarcerated.

Fewer police in city's schools, more on patrol
They are not needed in the schools...they do nothing there. Never have. Need to crank the WRAP program back up...more beneficial.

A Kid With A Dog Is A Healthy Kid
Your family deserves the best...so do the dogs in our local shelter and those fostered by area rescue groups. Adopt a "furever" family member from one of these organizations and you will improve the quality of your life as well as the dog you save. Our Dozer was adopted 7/10/11 from the shelter and we have all been blessed !

Board to hear comments on convicts up for parole
Parole is usually considered at 7-8 years into a 30-life sentence. No one goes for 20 years without parole consideration unless they are not allowed parole as part of their sentence.

Board to hear comments on convicts up for parole
No...there are public comments sessions in other states also. Individuals allowed to speak before the parole board are screened by victims services so that "Joe Blow" citizen not affiliated with the case/criminal is not allowed to just spout off as well. No years are added to anyone's sentence. Parole can be granted at a time specified by state statute which is a date earlier than the convict's release date and specifications must be met before parole is granted. Try learning what you are talking about before you open your mouth...it could save you future embarrassment.

Convicted rapist denied parole again
Because it is the law and, evidently, no one is physically attending the comments sessions or sending letters to the parole board. If the survivors of his crimes do not participate in the parole hearings most likely he will eventually be released into our community if a psychiatrist ever deems him fit for parole.
