Residents asked to conserve water as drought persists
Night before last, we received over an inch of rain. Yesterday after lunch (the day after the rain) a city employee was out watering shrubs down at the city building east of Spring Hill Suites.
Seriously?

Child injured at Raintree school expected to leave hospital
YES! don't take chances with a child's health. Better safe than sorry. I'd hope everyone would agree with that! The main thing is that the child is going to be ok from the way it sounds. Thankfully there were some adults around who acted quickly and medical people who could respond quickly.

KU doesn’t look far from nest for next group of Jayhawk scholars
Really disturbing how many times they said "um" or "uh" not just one of the ku students but all of the ones who spoke at this event. I hope someone taped their speeches and can help them . It was incredibly distracting.

High school graduation dates to change in 2013
Also, it was my understanding that by pushing graduation to memorial day weekend, one more HUGE problem existed. The staff /teachers would be no longer on the payroll by that time and no adults would be under contract to work the graduation weekend.
It seems the story left a lot of important facts out.....

High school graduation dates to change in 2013
One thing the article didn't make clear is that KU has their dates for graduation already scheduled thru 2016 and also the high school can't have graduation the same weekend as KU because the hotel rooms in town are already booked for KU graduation weekends for years to come. So it has to be a different weekend.
