Students who violated LHS policies in derogatory messages will be 'held accountable' — how, exactly, remains unclear

Incorrect Scott, similar to the change in 1973 when they removed homosexuality as a mental disorder in the DSM, Gender Disphoria has also been removed in DSM 5.

LHS transgender students face backlash after protest, say 'this isn't the end' for their advocacy

Gender Disphoria is not considered a "disorder" Similar to when the DSM took "homosexuality" off the list as a "Disorder" in 73' it was removed in the DSM-5. Also, the drugs for hormone therapy are very inexpensive. I think you have your tin foil hat on too tight.

LHS transgender students face backlash after protest, say 'this isn't the end' for their advocacy

"So we should embrace multiple types of gender identities " In a word yes. As the parent of a transgender child it's frankly people like you that concern me more than anything. Transgender people know who they are. Quite Bluntly, I think it's you that is confused. Please educate yourself before making broad statements. People with Gender Diaspora do get counseling, in fact doctors will not treat them in any capacity until they do. Please try and understand things before paint someone as "not right in the head" : https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-f...

Old church with new name to build multimillion dollar project in southwest Lawrence

They better plan on installing a stop light on the curve area if we are going to have even more traffic on 31st. I live off of Atchison Ave and it's already a nightmare trying to turn east on 31st. People come around the turn at a high rate of speed. With the Duplexes across the street it's been even more difficult to turn on the road.

Lawrence's 'go-to' musician generous with versatile talent

Great article. Michael is a great guy and one of the nicest, most talented people I know. I'm happy to see his talents recognized.

Bicycle group latest to raise access concerns about K-10/Kasold Drive intersection

"... despite the traffic signal option being the most popular from public comment and among Lawrence and Douglas County commissioners."

The "traffic signal option" seems like it would make a lot of people happy and also be safe for bicycles. Not inexpensive but a lot cheaper than a bridge I would imagine.
