Father of slain toddler grieves in Missouri jail
Sad, indeed. But he's no vicitm. The only person who deserves sympathy is the little girl. She had no choice in anything. All of the others did. All of the others chose to be involved in the 'friendships', life, and lifestyle that led to their death. Including doing something they knew could lead to addicition. Including to rob with the intent to deprive someone else of something and enrich themselves. Just because they are an addict and that's the reason they stole does not make them any better. And it certainly does not mean they deserve symapthy. He could have cleaned himself up. Earlier. That's a choice, too. There are programs that do that. For those who choose to take advantage of them. But he chose not to. Bailey rightfully places the blame where it belongs. On himself. This loser in life put his little baby, the one he claims to have loved more than life itself, in a position to meet the gruesome fate she did. Cry me a river inmate. While the others may not have deserved to die the way they did, they made their choices. I have no sympathy for any of them. Only Lana.

Lawrence homes sales up 24 percent; selling prices also on the rise
Minor point Chad, but median sales price is not the same as average (mean) sales price.

Homes sales up in February; single-family building permits hold steady; weekly land transfers
I still miss Bucky's greasy double cheeseburger. Not the bought it from the early 2000's Bucky's. But the early 2000's Bucky's. Especially on a hangover Saturday. Sniff . . .

KBI arrests Franklin County sheriff and deputy on obstruction of justice charges
This has to be one of the stupidest posts ever on LJW. If you violate traffic ordinances, the police can legally stop you. Your lights and blinkers not working, or not coming to a complete stop violate traffic ordinances. Which are derived from Kansas' 'rules of the road'; which is to say, Kansas statutes. So how is that corrupt? Not to mention, making the streets safe for by others by getting drunk drivers off the road is corrupt? Stay effing home if you drink. Or take a cab. Or have a sober friend drive. You self-centered, self-absorbed Idiot.

Perfect storm: Elijah Johnson buries ISU with 39 points
Indeed. But all of what you mentioned pales to the 'classy', and maybe dangerous, ISU fan who stormed the court to confront HCBS and had to be restrained by Self's police escort.

Perfect storm: Elijah Johnson buries ISU with 39 points
Except the officiating was terrible all night. And they blew other calls, too, that went ISU's way. No different than a last second field goal - doesn't decide the game. The outcome of plays collectively for 40 minutes, or last night 45 minutes, of play decide the game. And I have to admit I laughed when I saw the t-shirts "Breathe if you Hate Kansas". But in the end, the KU men shoved it down their 'HltnMgc' throat when it counted. Just as the crowd went strangely silent. Coincidence? Perhaps . . . bwahahahaha . . .

What a loon - yes it's perfectly OK to own the gun. What does feeling it's OK to own a gun have to do the gun being used by an idiot to kill children? Nothing. Talk about a 'terrible comparison.' Then again, you probably see no need for keeping the loons off the street. That it's OK for the loons to live like the non-loons. Something tells me you believe in all the meds the loons are pumped up with. That it keeps them sane - as long as they don't go off their meds. That a therapist can 'cure' the loons to the point they can live amongst the non-loons without problems. Osawatomie hospital is there for a reason. And, unfortunately, it's not used the way it used to be. Which is to say, keep the loons off the street. And out of the 'children's' classroom while holding a gun you feel it's perfectly OK for nobody to own.
