Editorial: The right person

Dolph, you are brilliant. Writing this "6th Graders for Mitt" piece was a marvelous way to flood people to your website. Any idea to slow the sad death of your industry is an important one, Dolph.

Oh, by the way, sorry things aren't working out for you on Tuesday. 319 to 219.

Obama shows hostility to business

For God's sake, listen to what the president said. You aren't guilty of mid-contextualizing his words, you are outright lying about what he said in the "you didn't build that" speech. But since his opponents don't appear to have anything meaningful to say about their own agenda, they are left to stand around in a giant convention center and spout lies to the throng of cheering rubes before them. The question I have is this - do you not care that you're being lied to, or are you too stupid to realize it?

Gary Bedore's KU hoops notebook: Elijah Johnson denies transfer rumors

"The Jayhawks shot 57.1 percent from the free-throw line Tuesday night, which was its lowest percentage since shooting 53.3 percent from the line against UCLA in the previous outing."

Brilliant note, Gary.

Brett Favre left brain dangling

Can the LJW not print the word "penis?" Is it on the same list as "University of Kansas" that can't be used in columns? Your "brain" joke is not clever, and it's not funny. Keep trying.

City wants ideas for homeless campsite

Yes, if we give people a place they can sleep outside and use a port-a-potty, they will be converting to homelessness in droves. I agree with the above poster. "Are" homeless have been pampered for too long. Who has it easier than the homeless?

Motorists, cyclists share responsibility

The ant-biking rhetoric is a joke. Are there cyclists that don't get over when they should, that run stop lights, and otherwise don't ride responsibly? Sure. But there are irresponsible people in every segment of society, including and especially the automobile driving segment. Having to slow down for fifteen seconds so that you can safely pass a cyclist isn't going to negatively affect your day. Lighten up. Have a heart. As to the bike path along Clinton; I've ridden it about 6 or 7 times. I've gotten two flats from glass or other trash in the curb cuts, and another time, I had to slam on my brakes because a car turned right in front of me. It's the most dangerous place I've ridden in this county.

Chief justice comes in strong off bench

That speech last night was boring. People were falling asleep during the junior high history lesson. I am as impressed as anyone that the Chief Justice is here, but last night's lecture was almost wholly without substance, and the Q & A that followed was a puff piece.

Demonstrators mark 5th anniversary of Iraq war with Louisiana St. march

Protest is great. Protesting something you find vile and deplorable and violent and unethical and etc. is even greater. Maybe you shouldn't look so happy when doing so in front of the cameras.
