Freedom of educational choice

Michele and Barrack Obama chose a Quaker school for their girls. The public schools today are not places you would go to unless you absulutely had to.A lot of parents cannot home school because of various reasons, single mom who has to work, lack of knowledge of the subjects taught, impatience with children. The application directors of Harvard, Yale and Stanford have all stated that they like having applications from home schooled students as they know these people will be more study oriented and more ready for college.

Positive step

Some people, including teenagers, are truly asexual. I believe that attendence in sexually oriented classes should be up to the students. Some don't want it and don't need it. We need to pare down the classes offered and teach the essentials, information that the student needs to get a job, increase the GNP and help get this country out of the mess it is in. The schools have to find a way to deal with being on a budget.Read Malthus.

Watch MSNBC for news and read the Wall Street Journal online. The London Times online is good also. As is Leonard Pitts column in the Miami Herald.I hated the Ed Sullivan show, until they got Elvis, the Beatles, etc.

What changes to your driving habits would you be most likely to change to make traveling our roads safer?

Farewell, for I go to a far better place. The MIami Herald. I'm afraid that you who post so faithfully to the Lawrence Journal World will never hear from me again. Then too, no one ever read my postings, probably because they were too positive.Don't miss me because I know I will not miss you.

Mom of three , not of the entire world, thank you. Stop the lectures, no one needs that from you, and if I were one of your children I would run away from home. You are the kind of woman that inspires men to call women the b word instead of dogs for whom it was intended.Shut the hell up. already!

Two deaths near Kansas River were likely drug overdoses, police say

Red Devil, I lived at Sally's for six months so I feel that I know the homeless pretty well. I know that some of them were working every day and saving money to get an apartment. The SA would keep the money in a safe for them, and give them a breakfast and a lunch to take with them. They would make sure their clothes were washed and clean when they went to work. It was hard on them because they had to sleep in the gym with others who had slept all day and wanted to stay up all night and make noise. I have watched the monitors, those who watched over us at night, take food up to those too drunk to pass the test and see that food thown on the ground. Watched them reply with compasssion and kindness. I know of others than myself who now have homes because of people who did not give up on us.I pray that everyone will find peace of mind and the will to change.Lord, forgive us our traspasses as we forgive others.

Have you considered using only a cell phone for service opposed to having a cell phone and a landline?

Let me repeat myself. I live in Lawrence, Kansas. I have a lifeline account with ATT and I pay around ten dollars a month for phone service including long distance. Okay, here is the real gen, straight from the website."Requirements vary by state. If you live in a state that doesn't offer state Lifeline support, you may qualify for federal Lifeline benefits if your household income is at or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG), or you participate in any of these programs:Medicaid Food Stamps Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8) Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) National School Lunch Program's Free Lunch Program Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Customers seeking to qualify for program benefits under the income-based standards are required to provide written documentation of their household income."I know what I get and how much I pay for my phone bill.Gotcha!
