Journal-World websites to require commenters to identify themselves

Haven't logged in a long time but wanted to say good-bye, we had some fun times. Take care of yourself beardedgnome. Hope Roady and gang will send some golf balls down the river to me. Have a plate of biscuits and gravy and maybe some cornbread. Did we ever settle the whole ketchup or mustard question? It's too bad Roady can't say good bye, unless he has a sock puppet That's ok, I keep up with him on facebook. I only have four friends, and two are family, so you see how he rates. I actually outed myself to several users at Multi's funeral. Found out then that some of the commenters thought that I was actually one of Multi's different user names. Since I was at the funeral though, that couldn't be. RIP Multi, you were one of the legendary LJW users. We gave the LJW quite the time with the whole back door thing. Hey, they should have thanked us for finding loopholes in their programming. I do wonder if Anna Undercover's blogs would have been allowed under the current regime. Wait, we never figured out Whitney's childhood nickname. Now we'll never know. Well, good-bye, it was a lot of fun (until recently anyway)

Lawrence man, among the few ticketed for Fourth of July fireworks, awaits his day in court

And many things invented in America and now made in China. Seems fitting that things invented in America should be made in America then.

Lawrence man, among the few ticketed for Fourth of July fireworks, awaits his day in court

LOL, celebrating the American 4th of July with Chinese made fireworks. Does anyone else see the irony in this?

Legendary Lawrence fiddler Billy Spears dies

No, his wife Doris worked there as a waitress. Billy and the kids hung out there a lot since their family and the manager's family became close friends.

Police investigating shooting in parking lot of Lawrence McDonald's

Maybe if my cholesterol medicine came in a Pez dispenser I would remember to take it.

100 years ago: 'The vulturous Kaw triumped' over Billie Bob Atkinson

It was lucky his body was found. I believe it was around 25yrs ago that a young man went over the dam and his family searched for months for his body. I remember they camped out at the boat ramp in North Lawrence below the dam. Also should be coming up on the 25th anniversary of the murder of the little boy in North Lawrence. Wonder if his killer is still in prison?

City Commission to consider giving Lawrence's city manager $10,000 raise

How about Corliss shows some class and turns down the raise or asks for a reduced raise equivalent to what the everyday city employees get.

City ordinance lands unlicensed solicitors in jail

pace 23 hours, 2 minutes ago

About time, Every time I called the police they gave me trouble and did nothing but encourage the door to doors.I am thrilled they seem to have changed their policy and enforce law. The law is a good one, it especially protects the vulnerable.

Could the reason be the location, Lake Alvamar Drive? One of the more exclusive parts of town.
